Deepavali Utsavam 2025

Royal Security’s Deployment at the Utsavam Street Parade & Deepavali Light-Up 2025

On 6 September 2025, Little India witnessed a historic celebration as Serangoon Road closed for the first time in 35 years to host the return of the Utsavam Street Parade, last held eight years ago. Thousands gathered to celebrate, and Royal Security was proud to play a key role in ensuring the safety and smooth flow of both traffic and crowds during this landmark event.

Royal Security deployed 30 Senior Security Officers, each certified with the Crowd and Traffic Control Course (CCTC), to serve as Traffic Marshals throughout the event. Our deployment stretched from 12 pm to 12 midnight, covering the full duration of preparations, the Deepavali Light-Up Ceremony, and the vibrant street parade that followed.

Professionalism in Action

Our officers reported early for duty, demonstrating the discipline and reliability that form the foundation of Royal Security’s work ethics. Before stepping into position, they attended a comprehensive deployment briefing conducted by our management team. This briefing set clear directives, reinforced safety priorities, and ensured every officer was aligned on execution strategy. Our management also remained on the ground throughout the day, overseeing the entire coverage and providing support to both officers and stakeholders.

Standing Strong Through the Challenges

The day began under sweltering afternoon heat, yet our team stood firm and professional, managing road closures and traffic diversions with focus and composure. As the crowds grew in anticipation of the Light-Up Ceremony, our officers worked tirelessly to balance road safety with crowd movement, ensuring a seamless flow of vehicles and people around the event grounds.

By evening, when President Tharman Shanmugaratnam officiated the Deepavali Light-Up and later joined the Grand Float at 10 pm, our Traffic Marshals were actively coordinating the safe passage of contingents, performers, and visitors along the closed streets. Their presence gave both organisers and attendees the assurance of order and security during the celebrations.

A Reflection of Royal Security’s Commitment

This deployment showcased more than just manpower. It highlighted Royal Security’s commitment to meticulous planning, operational discipline, and the ability to adapt to dynamic ground conditions. With 30 senior officers standing strong from afternoon heat to late-night festivities, and management leadership ensuring accountability at every stage, the operation was a true demonstration of teamwork, resilience, and professionalism.

As Little India lit up for the start of the 74-day Deepavali celebrations, Royal Security was honoured to play a part in keeping history safe, organised, and memorable for all.
